03 May Grassroots Radio at the workshop on digital social innovation
Friday April 26th a high level workshop titled The road ahead for digital social innovation: How can the EU support tech as a force for empowerment and social impact? took place in Brussels, organized by the global innovation foundation Nesta, as part of the digital social innovation (DSI4EU) project.
AMARC Europe attended this policy workshop as partner of the Grassroots Radio project. The event involved several Collective Awareness Platforms for Sustainability & Social Innovation (CAPSSI) projects like Grassroots Radio. It explored how the European institutions can support Digital Social Innovation (DSI) and create a future where technology empowers citizens to tackle our biggest social and environmental challenges.
After a series of short DSI success stories, EU officials brought the vision of the EU Commission. An interdisciplinary approach to social innovation is strongly needed and IT can offer unprecedented opportunities to connect people and reinforce the social aspect of innovation.
