10 Jun Grassroots Radio at the 9th International Conference on Communities & Technologies
Last Thursday, June 6th, Grassroots Radio was in Wien at the 9th International Conference on Communities & Technologies. A paper regarding the activities the project’s partners undertook to obtain the broadcasting license was presented to an audience of researchers, designers, educators, industry, and students with a common interest for the connections between communities – in their multiple forms – and information and communication technologies.
The paper describes the strong influence of institutions (norms, rules, governance structures, etc.) in the design and establishment of technologies for supporting the communities, like RootIO. The authors of the paper are Roberto Cibin, Maurizio Teli and Sarah Robinson, members of the project’s consortium.
The abstract of the paper is available at this link.
